A delayed date, and a drive

Last year, we had to skip our trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, in order to avoid being slammed by a winter with storm.

We made up for it today.

De riguer political point #1:
        The United States government at one point spent millions and built a highly efficient bureaucracy to welcome immigrants to this country.

De riguer political point #2:
        While many know that "Liberty Island" was once Bedloe's Island, it fell into government hands due to non-payment of taxes.

De riguer political point #3:
        The greatest symbol of America, recognized throughout the world, was a gift from France.

The tonight, we drove to Boston.  I thought the traffic was supposed to be horrible.  Driving at 10:30 pm made it simple.
