The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Last weeksnailstichr and I spent the week in Florida, visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and other sections of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.  The rest of Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios were cool enough, but WWoHP was, dare I say, magic.  It was, of course as all such parks are, overcommercialized, with premium prices of t-shirts and chochkey.  But the overall look was great, and gave you permission to suspend disbelief.

Pictures are here.

Butterbeer is good.  We have reproduced it home with Diet Creme Soda topped with whipped cream flavored with honey and cinnamon.

I will try to reproduce pumpkin juice later this week.

The Forbidden Journey ride is awesome.  Apparently it is a technical innovation, but more importantly it is a narrative triumph.  It is the focus of the trip.

A word on prices:
Single Day $112
Four Days, One park per day  $149.

Spend a week, love the parks.
